Reporting Arrangements and Main Contacts

The Project Manager will be accountable to the Directors of Beattie Passive.

Main Tasks and Accountabilities

1. Overall accountability for projects, ensuring the project is delivered on time and budget.

  • Directly manage a portfolio of complex projects and initiatives
  • Develop and deliver Project Management processes to include: creating and maintaining project programmes and monitoring progress against programme; updating schedules and trackers; creating risk and cost management plans; checking design documents with architects and engineers; preparing detailed reports as required

2. Work with Commercial Operations Manager, Production Operations Manager, and Site Agents to plan construction operations and schedule works to ensure deadlines will be met

3. Work with the Site Agent to manage the construction site on a day-to-day basis, including supervising the labour force, monitoring subcontractors, checking materials, inspecting work and overseeing health and safety, environmental and quality control

4. Manage assigned relationships with suppliers and sub-contractors to negotiate prices (as required) and ensure all contracts are delivered

5. Manage and develop client relationships: as required maintain regular communication and run / attend meetings with clients and their representatives. As well as communicating with any consultants, subcontractors, planners, quantity surveyors and others involved in the project

6. Comply and maintain BOPAS and ISO requirements

7. Identify issues or potential problems ahead of time and address or resolve these in a timely manner

8. Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature the capabilities of the Project Management department

Main Tasks and Accountabilities

The role will be, but not limited to:

1. Research, select and purchase quality products and materials required by the business

2. Build relationships with existing suppliers / subcontractors and negotiate with them for the best terms and prices

3. Develop new relationships expanding the current supply chain

4. Process requisitions and update management on status of orders

5. Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels

6. Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely deliveries to various sites

7. Manage stock room, stock levels & report discrepancies to management

8. Undertake procurement processes and documentation in line with BOPAS and ISO quality management system

9. Analyse and understand market trends and apply this knowledge to make buying decision

 

The Ideal Candidate:-

· Previous buyer experience in construction field including on site procurement

· Previous experience/knowledge with construction materials

Reporting Arrangements and Main Contacts

The Design Manager will be accountable to Commercial Operations of Beattie Passive and accountable to the Directors of
Beattie Passive and Beattie Passive Board.

Main Tasks and Accountabilities

1. Lead the Beattie Passive Architectural Team
a. Manage the delivery of the design programme; thorough review of all projects
to ensure the correct detailing and that they are delivered to programme
b. Review client architectural drawings to ensure they comply with Beattie Passive System
c. Appoint work to the Team
d. Run weekly architectural meetings, issue minutes and manage action
completion
e. Produce programme and cost plans for design work
f. Leadership and co-ordination between Architectural Team to ensure
consistency of detailing
2. Liaison between design team, factory and site to review designs, ensure designs are
delivered correctly and any issues resolved swiftly
3. Maintain and ensure compliance with ISO and BOPAS procedures
4. Carry out feasibility design work for prospective projects
5. Client Liaison
a. Meet with clients to understand their brief and convey this to the team
b. Manage the client relationship throughout the design process
6. Technical lead with Engineers and Building Control
7. Liaison with PHPP Designers and Assessors and responsible for completing
certification paperwork
8. Oversee training of new and current staff
9. Work on technical delivery of new products with Managing Director to include Volumetric / Modular, Retrofit, future innovations and system improvements
10. Motivate the team and maintain a collaborative working relationship

Post Holder Expectations

The post holder will be expected to:
1. Be proficient in using latest AutoCAD together with SketchUp, Revit and IT software
(Microsoft Excel and Word).
2. Carry out allocated tasks competently and professionally within determined timescales,
financial budgets and fee/cost targets
3. Provide effective support and assistance
4. Adhere to agreed practice procedures, technical standards and Standing Orders
5. Communicate with other professionals and trade persons in a clear, positive and
effective manner

The Architectural Technician/Technologist will be accountable to the Directors of Beattie Passive and shall report directly to the Lead Architectural Technologist.

Main Tasks and Accountabilities

1. Contribute to the achievement of Beattie Passive objectives and targets

2. Develop knowledge of the patented Beattie Passive Build System and bespoke 3D modelling system
3. Demonstrate knowledge of residential building construction, legislation and codes of practice
4. Assist with the preparation of drawings and specifications to a high standard, compliant with appropriate current standards
5. Assist with the management and administration of projects
6. Develop, maintain and use IT skills including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit / BIM and specification systems
7. Liaise with and lead other project consultants in the furtherance of building projects
8. Plan and monitor the time and costs associated with projects as allocated and take action to ensure that the agreed rate of return is achieved
9. Assist on the delivery of quality assured, Beattie Passive products and services to meet agreed client requirements
10. Make visits to other offices and project sites when required
11. Identify new business opportunities, and bring these to the attention of the Team Leader
12. Carry out other duties appropriate to the level and character of the post
13. Employ Passivhaus principles and demonstrate willingness to learn and contribute to company knowledge base
14. Preparation of 3D structural frame modelling, 2D construction detailing, scheduling, shop and production drawings, material quantification

7. Assist on the delivery of quality assured, Beattie Passive products and services to meet

Main Tasks

Identifying opportunities on which to submit bids and feeding into the decision over whether to bid for the work.

  1. Devising a successful strategy for winning a bid, including pinpointing the unique selling points of your organisation, knowing your company’s operating and profit margins, and understanding the clients’ specific requirements.
  2. Researching and writing proposals.
  3. Working with key members of the project team to obtain the information required to compile the bid.
  4. Assessing and addressing the technical and commercial risks relating to the bid they are working on.
  5. Negotiating with specialist suppliers and/or subcontractors.
  6. Researching current and future market trends.
  7. Responding to clients’ and other stakeholders’ queries before, during and after the bid has been submitted.
  8. When more senior, putting together a team to oversee the bid.
  9. If the bid is successful, briefing the teams who will carry out the project work.
