HISTORY was made on 7th April 2014. As the door keys were handed over for Great Yarmouth Borough Council’s first new council homes for 20 years.   Beattie Passive handed the door keys for the first two homes completed. Both two-bedroom houses on the Caister-on-Sea site to Cllr Penny Linden, the borough council’s cabinet member for communities.

Cllr Linden said: “I am delighted that construction is now complete, as scheduled, on the first two homes of this landmark development. Which not only helps to meet the demand for council homes in the borough, but also delivers models for the council homes of the future.

New tenant, Chloe Carvell, 21, a mother-of-one, said: “I am really excited about my new home. It is great to be the first family to live in a newly-completed house – everything is brand new. And because of the energy-efficient design, I will be able to save money as well.”
