Four Haus4one units (GIA 24m2 each) to help address the issue of homelessness in Caerphilly

The apartments were all manufactured to Passivhaus standard at our offsite factory using modern methods of construction. This means they’re highly energy efficient with low running costs.

Supported by the Welsh Government’s Homelessness Funding Programme, these four single bedroom apartments provide temporary accommodation for young people at risk of homelessness in Caerphilly.

Energy efficient and low carbon modular homes

The homes are located at Maes Y Dderwen, a supported housing scheme owned by United Welsh and managed by Pobl Group. The apartments provide move-on accommodation for existing residents of the Maes Y Dderwen scheme, assisting them to live independently and freeing rooms for other young people who find themselves facing homelessness.

The apartments were all manufactured to Passivhaus standard at our offsite factory using modern methods of construction (MMC). This means they’re highly energy efficient with low running costs. A Passivhaus needs as little as 10% of the energy used by a traditional home, and this results in a much lower carbon footprint as well.
