Waverley Borough Council Haus4Two+ Next Steps Accommodation Project

Beattie Passive provided 2 x Haus4Two+ apartments to be deployed in a Next Steps Accommodation Housing Project on a former garage site. The scheme was jointly funded by Homes England and Waverley Borough Council. The homes were designed to meet the National Space Standards.

Net Zero modular homes for the homeless

This scheme was jointly funded by the Government’s Next Steps Accommodation Programme and Waverley Borough Council. The modular homes were manufactured offsite and then delivered to site in just 6 weeks.

Haus4Two+ is designed to meet the National Space Standards. The homes have a large living space, with French double doors, a spacious bedroom, a garden area and bicycle storage. Each home is equipped with an electric car charging point and 3.2kW solar panels, with a garden area and bicycle storage.

The superb thermal performance, coupled with photovoltaic panels, means that this project is ‘Net Zero’ in terms of carbon emissions. What’s more, the innovative Beattie Passive build system raises building standards and the units are fully relocatable without major structural alteration.

“These excellent new homes are a blueprint for greener, more environmentally conscious living. They take away the reliance on fossil fuels, are sustainable and portable. Our new tenants should benefit greatly from reduced household fuel bills. This an important step forward toward our commitment and ambitions for making all our council homes carbon neutral by 2030”
Councillor Anne-Marie Rosoman
